The World Federation of the Deaf Regional Secretariat for Asia Youth Camp (WFD RSA Youth Camp) is held every two years. It provides opportunities for all Asian youths to build friendships and promotes better understanding about culture, language and community. The eligible age range is between 18 – 35 years old.

Camp Objectives

  • to gain leadership skills and knowledge
  • to exchange ideas for deaf youth and advocacy
  • to enhance pride in Deaf culture, identity and history
  • to build networking
  • to understand different cultures in the Asia region

These objectives aim to give the deaf youth from Asian countries an opportunity to meet each other and exchange experiences, languages and cultures. In this environment, participants can learn about international issues with tolerance and appreciation for all cultures.

I am very thrilled to extend a very warm welcome to all the Deaf Youth delegates from the youth sections or associations in Asia, to be part of the 8th WFD RSA Youth Camp 2016, held in Singapore for the first time. The delegates will embark on this adventure, which is going to be filled with lots of fun and excitement!

This camp promises to be a unique experience and is also a great opportunity for us to meet our future Deaf leaders. I hope we can connect as one, sharing ideas and helping one another to make the world better.

Imagining few years down the road after this camp, some of us will become greater leaders in our own countries, and encourage greater youth movement among Asia. That would bring a smile to all of us.

Definitely, the Deaf Youth spirit will be everlasting, and will be passed on to the younger generation and making a difference in our deaf world.

Cheering on, and long live the Deaf Youth spirit!
